The Trust Boards of Luton and Dunstable University Hospital and Bedford Hospital have agreed to explore plans to merge and form one NHS Trust later this year. Under the umbrella of the single NHS Trust, both hospitals will retain their identity and individual hospital names. All key services will remain on both sites and will be managed as single teams across the whole Bedfordshire catchment area. This will bring many benefits for patients including much improved continuity of care.

The hospital continues to be committed to delivering the best patient care using the best clinical knowledge and technology available.
