NHS Ashton, Leigh and Wigan – your local Primary Care Trust – aims to commission the delivery of better and more responsive health services and improve the health of local people in the area.  The Trust holds the NHS budget for our local population of approximately 310,000 people.  It works with colleagues such as GPs (family doctors), Dentists, Pharmacists and Opticians to deliver primary care services, that is, services close to home, and commissions services from NHS organisations such as Ashton, Leigh and Wigan Community Healthcare, Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust and the 5 Boroughs Partnership NHS Trust, to make sure that community services, hospital care and other specialist treatment are available when you need them.

A comprehensive range of community services are provided by Community Healthcare (Provider Arm) from Doctors’ Surgeries, Clinics, Health Centres, Schools, Hospitals, Day Centres, Residential & Nursing Homes and individuals’ homes across the whole Borough.
