Under the supervision of registered health care professionals, you will work in a low secure unit, assisting the healthcare team with the provision of clinical care for service users with complex mental health issues, who also have an offending background.

Main duties of the job
To assist and support registered nurses in the assessment, delivery and evaluation of care to patients suffering from mental illness, who may present with offending behaviours.
To act as a key worker for individual clients as required, maintain and audit all documentation relating to this role.
To assist in the supervision and instruction of all junior staff and students on placement/induction within the clinical area, under the guidance and advice of the qualified nurse.

- NVQ2 training or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
- NVQ/QCF level 3 in care
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working with people with mental health needs or of working with offenders / challenging behaviour.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working in a mental health in–patient environment
- Experience of using mental health services
